Hi there,
thank you for a great read!
I'm a middle school teacher in Victoria, BC looking for an editable online venn diagram that is also collaborative. I've searched all the above resources with little luck. I can definitely be a little creative to get what I need, but I'm wondering if there is an easy version of what I want.

Any thoughts?

Great! I'm so glad that there are dedicated instructors taking extra steps to engage learners. I'll stay tuned to what is developed!

Hi John,
Thanks for the comment. I've posted a "under construction" resource page on Graphic Organizers here: http://district6.wikispaces.com/GraphicOrganizers
I'm glad I could share something with you. The resources you always share with me are invaluable!

Dear Debi,
Thanks for the comment about Gliffy. I'm just now exploring this amazing tool for collaborating on graphic organizers. The wealth of graphics that are available to build different types of maps collaboratively makes it a very powerful tool.

Thanks for the great post. Interestingly enough, I was asked to conduct a Tuesday PD at a school in February with the hope that they would utilize Inspiration more. Hope it is okay with you that I share your post. You provided great resources.

Thanks for the mention of Gliffy. We appreciate being included in the discussion of graphic organizers. Another benefit of Gliffy is the collaborate option--multiple users can give input on the task at hand. Best,

Hi Matthew,
I think many teachers in our district are using graphic organizers in the elementary schools. I think, in large part, that's due to the strong emphasis on using Thinking Maps. It is a program that promotes uniformity. I think it is a good program. I just think there are probably alternatives.
To encourage teachers and students to use graphic organizers is important. Thanks for sharing your great collection of ThinkingMaps resources. I have them bookmarked here: http://del.icio.us/district6/thinkingmaps The podcasts by Trang Lai are great!
Thanks,
Janice

On the one hand it would be great if there was a uniform use of graphic organizers across curriculums and grade levels which I think is the rationale behind using the Thinking Maps. On the other hand, it would be great if teachers just used graphic organizers at all. In so many classrooms information is only presented orally and never visually.

P.S. Must plug favorite thinking maps resource http://www.thinkingmaps.org
